Fremont Troll sculpture

The Fremont Troll is a large public concrete sculpture installed under the north end of the George Washington Memorial Bridge (Aurora Bridge) in 1990 by four local artists. The roughly 18-foot-tall figure clutches a Volkswagen Beetle in its left hand and was created as part of a city-sponsored public art project. It has become an iconic Fremont neighborhood landmark tied to troll folklore and visitor interest. The sculpture sits under the bridge at the site commonly known as the Fremont Troll.
