The Dakota (John Lennon residence)

The Dakota at 1 West 72nd Street is the late-19th-century cooperative apartment building where John Lennon lived with Yoko Ono. Lennon was shot outside the building on December 8, 1980, and the site has since become a frequent place for fans to leave flowers and take photographs.
