Capt. Oliver Emerson Homestead

The Capt. Oliver Emerson Homestead, located at 133 North Street in Methuen, Massachusetts, is a historic house built around 1775 by Oliver Emerson, a prominent figure in the American Revolutionary War. This 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure features a large central chimney and is characteristic of Georgian architecture. As one of the few surviving homes from the early days of Methuen, it offers a glimpse into the city's history before its mid-19th century development. The homestead was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 20, 1984, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in American history.
