The Warren

The Warren, a Grade II listed building in West Wickham, Greater London, is a historic manor house built in 1882 by Walter Maximilian de Zoete. Known for its unique Flemish architectural style, it features stepped gables and a striking red brick facade. Originally named Warren House, it served as an auxiliary hospital during World War I, treating over 630 servicemen. The estate, once sprawling over 12.5 acres, included extensive gardens and various outbuildings. After changing hands several times, it became a sports and social club for the Metropolitan Police and the local community, preserving its rich history while serving modern needs.
