Collins Building (Seattle)

The Collins Building, also known as Collins Block, is a historic brick structure located in Seattle, Washington. Constructed between 1893 and 1894 by John Collins, this five-story building showcases the Richardsonian Romanesque architectural style, designed by Arthur Bishop Chamberlin. It is uniquely positioned on a hilly slope at the intersection of Second Avenue and James Street, on land that was once the site of Collins' personal home, which was lost in the Great Seattle Fire. As of 2016, the building is owned by the Samis Foundation, making it a notable landmark for both tourists and researchers interested in Seattle's architectural history.
