ALICO Building

The ALICO Building, standing at 282 feet, is the tallest building in Waco, Texas, and a notable historical landmark. Completed in 1910, it was originally built for the Amicable Life Insurance Company and was the tallest structure west of the Mississippi River until 1912. The building survived the devastating 1953 Waco tornado with minimal damage and has undergone renovations, including the iconic neon sign added in 1966. Designated a historical landmark in 1982 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012, the ALICO Building is a significant piece of Waco's architectural heritage and a must-see for visitors and researchers alike.
