Douglas House (Lovells Township, Michigan)

The Douglas House, also known as the Douglas Hotel or the North Branch Outing Club, is a historic sporting lodge located in Lovells Township, Michigan. Built in 1916 by Thomas E. Douglas, it served as a retreat for wealthy travelers, including notable figures from the Detroit automobile industry. The lodge features 20 guest rooms and retains much of its original charm. Designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 2000 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001, the Douglas House offers a glimpse into the region's lumbering past and the evolution of tourism in the area.
