What tags do
- They add searchable context beyond the title and description.

How to choose good tags
- Choose tags that directly describe the place, not tags that are only loosely related.
- Prefer the most useful and recognizable topics over niche or redundant selections.
- Use tags to improve discovery, not to repeat the exact same idea several times.
- Start with the strongest match first, then add only the tags that genuinely help someone find it.
How tags appear in Spot
- When creating or editing a Locory, tags are selected from the available list instead of typed as free-form text.
- Locory submissions currently require between 1 and 3 tags.
- Tag filters can also be used while browsing the map.
- Some other features, such as collections or interests, may also use tags to help organize content.
What to avoid
Avoid picking tags that are misleading, overly broad, or only weakly connected to the place. Good tags should make the entry easier to discover, not harder to understand.
